FAQ
What LI-Check is, how it works, and what it isn't.
+ − What does the score mean?
It's an inauthenticity / red-flag rating from 1–100. Higher means more inconsistencies were detected - timeline contradictions, title inflation, duration mismatches, and so on. A low score means the profile looks internally consistent. It is not a judgment of the person, only of the profile data.
+ − How does LI-Check analyze a profile?
Two passes. First, deterministic checks do the math on dates and durations, look for overlapping full-time roles, and cross-reference 'started a new role' posts against claimed start dates. Then an AI model reviews the profile for subtler signals like title inflation and vague, unverifiable descriptions. The two sets of findings are combined into a weighted score.
+ − Where does the data come from?
Public LinkedIn profile data. You provide a profile URL (or a name + company to search). Nothing private or behind a login is accessed beyond what is publicly visible.
+ − Is this accurate? Can I rely on it?
No - treat it as a research and curiosity tool, not a source of truth. Findings can be wrong, and unusual-but-honest career paths can trip the checks. It is explicitly not intended for hiring, employment, or any consequential decision about a person.
+ − Can I get a profile removed from the leaderboard?
Yes. Use the Contact form with the profile URL and we'll remove it.
+ − Do you store the results?
Analyzed profiles appear on the public leaderboard with their score. We keep one record per profile URL, updated when it's re-analyzed.
